Your metabolism has shifted up a gear, making you feel warmer and thirstier than usual. You may also notice a dark line snaking up your belly, this is called the linea nigra and it's very common in pregnancy and will disappear after the birth. About now, you should have an antenatal appointment and first scan.
Your Baby
The baby's now about as long as your thumb and Its fingers and toes are separating and has elbows and wrists. Its intestines are developing, kidneys and liver are working and its face is looking much more human. It can stretch, roll and yawn and much less vulnerable to abnormalities caused by infections such as rubella.
